
Monty Sweet is an independent SOUL BLUES AMERICANA artist based out of Virginia Beach, VA.
Strumming his first blues guitar chord at the age of 17, Monty was a founding member of the popular South Florida band Stone House. As the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and primary songwriter in Stone House, he helped to pioneer the jam band movement in the early 90's.
A gospel-soul vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Monty has shared stages with Albert Collins, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jack Johnson, Coco Taylor, War, and The Allman Brothers, to name just a few. He has also been featured in Relix Magazine and listed on national blues harmonica "Best New Player" lists, comparing him to the late, great Carey Bell.

After many years of performing professionally, family became his focus, and Monty took a hiatus for nearly two decades. However, during the COVID isolation, his passion for music was reignited in full force and he began diving into new musical ideas.
